The Football Association have confirmed that they have laid charges down on Leeds United centre-half Pontus Jansson following his emotional outburst following the Brentford clash prior to the October international break.

The 27-year-old Swedish international has been charged with using insulting language and bringing the game into disrepute given his actions during his post-game press interviews where he did use a naughty word and hit out at match day referee Jeremy Simpson, accusing him of ‘robbery’ over his pathetic penalty award on October 6.

The news doesn’t come as any surprise given the FA are the FA, and even though the game saw a number of talking points from incidents, Jansson was nailed on to be charged after the FA decided that Sergi Canos had no case to answer for his soft, but pretty clear, headbutt gesture on Ezgjan Alioski.

Jansson has until 6pm on Wednesday to answer the charge and although I’m guessing many fans would suggest ‘in a similar vein’, given they are also looking at Leeds for some stupid behaviour from our own fans in allegedly throwing coins after the penalty was scored, it doesn’t suit us to drag this one out – even if on principle.
