Leeds boss Kevin Blackwell will be boosted by the return of Sean Gregan and on-loan Jonathan Douglas for the clash with Cardiff.

Both players sat out a one-game ban last week, paving the way for a first appearance of the season for teenager Simon Walton, who is expected to drop back down to the bench.

Midfielders Shaun Derry and Gylfi Einarsson remain sidelined with hamstring and shoulder injuries respectively.

Fellow midfielder Steve Stone (Achilles) is hoping to return to action early in the new year, while long-term absentee Richard Cresswell is making rapid progress after rupturing knee ligaments.

The former Preston striker could be back for the Christmas period.

Cardiff will make three changes to their side for the Championship clash.

Skipper and central defender Darren Purse is suspended and will be replaced by Neil Cox.

Striker Michael Ricketts is ruled out by a clause in the loan agreement between the two clubs and his place will go to Alan Lee.

Midfielder Kevin Cooper will step in for Wales international Paul Parry after missing the last four games following a knee operation.
