Friday evening’s Yorkshire derby at Hillsborough between Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday was always going to create some talking points.

It was a pretty entertaining encounter I would think for the neutral and from our perspective, it was a strong reaction to the Birmingham City defeat in the previous game. Dominating the match again on both possession and chances, arguably we should’ve come out with more to show for our efforts but this could be the start of another unbeaten run in the Championship and sometimes that’s all you can ask for after a defeat.

On the other hand, that many chances and only one goal is a concern and the sooner we get Kemar Roofe and Patrick Bamford back from injury, the better.

With both goals on the day drawing plaudits, Fernando Forestieri’s almost Olympic level penalty box shenanigans certainly got tongues wagging on social media.

Planting his feet before going down like a sack of potatoes in an apparent tussle with Pontus Jansson…the phrase ‘making a meal of it’ probably doesn’t do it justice.

Thankfully the referee saw through his efforts, but I’m not sure anyone would’ve been surprised had he been shown a yellow card.
