One of the biggest questions of the season for Leeds United fans has always been what does the future hold for manager Marcelo Bielsa.
We know that if have Premier League football for next season there is an absolute obligation for the second year of his deal to come into play, but should promotion not be gained, the club has the option to break the deal.
With plenty of speculation about whether the second year only kicks in on promotion and wild speculation otherwise, Bielsa’s brother recently spoke and stated that if Leeds wanted him to continue, in short he would.
That was music to the ears of fans given the impact he’s had on the club and just generally, the type of guy he has proven to be and after this week’s press conference ahead of the Derby County tie, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay took to social media to share a simple little story.
Hoying down at Thorp Arch earlier, absolutely horrible. Drive out and Bielsa is on his own starting a long trek home to Wetherby, no coat and just a tracksuit top on with his hood up, getting soaked. “Would you like a lift??” “No thank you, I like this.” Such a one-off.

With Bielsa’s walkabouts well covered as fans recount stories of chance meetings with the Argentine, as Hay states ‘such a one-off’ with most managers seeming to have chauffeurs in today’s game.
Love it and he’s staying surely.
have you seen my car? He’d rather walk.

Little did you know he was being sarcastic, you then drove off and left him.

Feel sorry for @SalimLamraniOff having to get wet with him to translate your question and his answer.

My kids with our MB at Thorp Arch. He was on the phone and put his conversation on hold for this pic. He insisted I have a pic with him too before he set off to Wetherby. This Gentle Man has given us our club back and we love him for it ????????@Debyoung76 pic.twitter.com/TvukxYS9H2

I will be absolutely gutted if / when he leaves. I like to think he never will. The man is a one off, it's weird but I get a sense of pride he is our manager…. #mancrush ????

Already a legend and will become folklore in about 70 years. So glad I’m here to watch history in the making.
