Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘Such a joy to watch this team play’: How Leeds’ demolition of Stoke played out on Twitter

That was easy wasn’t it?

When you next go to the dictionary and look up the definition of ‘routine victory’, I’m pretty sure you’re going to find the words, ‘Stoke City 0 – 3 Leeds’.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men continued their unbeaten start to the season against a Stoke City side that haven’t exactly got off to the best of starts in the league.

It took them a while to get off the mark though, but with the first half winding down, Stuart Dallas latched onto Pablo Hernandez’s pass to get things rolling.

Once they got the first goal though, the floodgates were bound to open, and open they did. They doubled their lead five minutes after halftime, with Ezgjan Alioski finishing from close range after Patrick Bamford’s pass. Although I think Leeds fans had their minds on a slightly bigger picture.

Bamford turned from provider to scorer fifteen minutes later as he put the game beyond doubt by tapping in the rebound after Alioski had his initial effort saved.

With the game out of sight, everything seemed to cool down somewhat as there was only really one more significant chance, coming from Helder Costa.

And with that, the game wound down and the Whites claimed all three points. Same again Tuesday?
