Here’s a question for you.
Would you consider a win against Brentford in August a ‘statement win’? I personally wouldn’t, but that hasn’t stopped one member of the Leeds team treating it as such.
Speaking in the aftermath of the Brentford game, United midfielder Adam Forshaw said:
“We’ve sent out a big message in terms of our strength in depth. Eddie and Helder came on, and they both played a part, then Berardi made an appearance, and he’s someone you can always count on.”
And that seemed to strike a chord with a number of the United fan base.
Loving our midfield at the moment. We have grit, we have flair and we have intelligence. Remind you of anything?!

Forshaw just seems to get better and better and more complete by the game – with KP developing into a proper top class player as well, and Ben White looking one of the best loan signings of recent times – what can you say about Eddie?
The only way and conclusion is UP

Although there were quite a number of fans who weren’t entirely convinced by his words. And I suppose they do have a point, we haven’t got out of August yet so it’s a little bit early to be ‘sending a message’. Best save that sort of stuff for March.
Let's stop with the big words, we've done this & we've done that. Heads down, game by game, nothing is won in august, we should know this.

yeah we really need to lay off this sort of stuff and just go about our business quietly and effectively, gotta learn lessons from last season, weve done nowt until we are up #lufc

Same position as this time last year. #feetfirmlyplanted

Great start to the season, but only 4 games in, so we've hardly sent out any kind of message yet, let alone a big one..

It’s all well and good talking about strength in depth now, but wait until the injuries start rolling in like last year, then we’ll see if the strength in depth is really there.
