Leeds Word On The Tweet

‘Stop’, ‘we’ve done nowt’: Not all Leeds fans respond positively to midfielder’s comments

Here’s a question for you.

Would you consider a win against Brentford in August a ‘statement win’? I personally wouldn’t, but that hasn’t stopped one member of the Leeds team treating it as such.

Speaking in the aftermath of the Brentford game, United midfielder Adam Forshaw said:

“We’ve sent out a big message in terms of our strength in depth. Eddie and Helder came on, and they both played a part, then Berardi made an appearance, and he’s someone you can always count on.”

And that seemed to strike a chord with a number of the United fan base.

Although there were quite a number of fans who weren’t entirely convinced by his words. And I suppose they do have a point, we haven’t got out of August yet so it’s a little bit early to be ‘sending a message’. Best save that sort of stuff for March.

It’s all well and good talking about strength in depth now, but wait until the injuries start rolling in like last year, then we’ll see if the strength in depth is really there.
