With four points from an available six as Leeds United began the 2019/20 Championship campaign, Tuesday evening saw a distraction come in the shape of the EFL Cup first round tie with Salford City.
Making the trip to Moor Lane to face off against the newly promoted League Two side, manager Marcelo Bielsa selected a much changed side and fans got their first proper sight of new Arsenal loanee Eddie Nketiah.
We grew into the game and the 20-year-old opened the scoring on his debut, and with further goals from Gaetano Berardi and Mats Klich, it turned into a pretty comfortable night for us in reality.
With plenty of fans eagerly following the game on social media, Nketiah’s goal just two minutes shy of the halftime break, received the expected reaction, as plenty are hopeful as to what he can bring to us when it comes to an additional goal threat following the earlier departure of Kemar Roofe to Anderlecht.
