Leeds United travelled to The Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion in today’s evening Championship kickoff, and victory would’ve sent us back to the top of the second tier table.
Dominating possession in our usual way and having 72% of the ball across the 90 minutes, it turned into the proverbial nightmare for manager Marcelo Bielsa as the hosts simply did more with the ball when they had it and the defence in particular, as well as the whole side, just had a really bad day at the office and had one to forget.
Hal Robson-Kanu opened the scoring shortly after the halftime restart and with just over 20 minutes left to play in the game the floodgates opened, and West Brom found the net three more times through Matt Phillips, Harvey Barnes and Dwight Gayle and we just had no reply.
Pablo Hernandez did grab a consolation in stoppage time but we need to dust ourselves down quickly after that one.
