Stats: Bielsa’s Back To Winning Ways With Leeds As We Re-Take Top Spot

|

Leeds United travelled to the DW Stadium earlier today to face Wigan Athletic in our latest Championship clash.

It was a bright start from both sides on the day and the hosts took the lead six minutes into the match, but Pablo Hernandez had us level three minutes later.

With our usual dominance of games under manager Marcelo Bielsa again on show we had 67% of possession but only 12 efforts on goal, and somewhat disappointingly only four of those were on target. Defensively though we limited them to six efforts and they only tested goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell once.

So it was a deserved three points with goals from Hernandez and then Kemar Roofe giving us a 2-1 win. It’s fair to say Roofe probably won’t score an easier goal in his career really but he’ll certainly take as many of those as he can.

A fourth away win of the year sends us back to the top of the Championship table once again.
