The signings just keep coming at Elland Road.
After Mondays triple signing of Jack Harrison, Ben White and Liam McCarron, there’s yet another young man making his way through the door, although this one’s a revolving door.
After much speculation that he wasn’t going to be making the move to North London just yet, it was confirmed today that young Leeds winger Jack Clarke will indeed stay at Leeds United for the upcoming season.
The 18-year-old York-born prospect was a bit part player last season, only making 22 appearances in the league, predominantly as a substitute, but managed to contribute two goals and two assists when he did manage to get on the pitch. It was those brief performances that caught the eye of Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino, with the fee rumoured to be in the region of up to £11.5m.
So when the time came for Leeds to announce his departure and then swift return, United fans were quick to jump into action and all make, what basically amounts to the same joke, just told in a variety of ways.
