Journalist Alan Nixon has suggested that Matej Vydra will be a Leeds United player providing that the club pay £11 million to sign him from Derby.
Vydra is a top performer in the Championship and would surely get us towards the top six with him almost guaranteeing goals at this level.
With that said, though, he’s going to cost money and it looks as though that is what will need to happen if we are to get him over the line.
Such a fee is significant money but, if we’ve got it and it helps us seal promotion, it would be worth it – whilst it also weakens Derby considerably.
The Verdict
I say pay it, to be honest.
I think we’ve got the money to get such a deal over the line and this would surely be our marquee signing.
Other players will hopefully arrive alongside him this summer and hopefully, his arrival will kick off the window in style.
