Yesterday evening should’ve been a nice distraction for Leeds United fans given the woeful summer we’ve had on a transfer front.

Loan arrivals for Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman simply haven’t papered over the cracks in our first team and optimism following the appointment of Marcelo Bielsa is now dipping as we see reported targets heading elsewhere, and talks with other suspected targets stall.

Last night we headed to The New Lawn to face Forest Green Rovers in our opening pre-season friendly of the summer – as of the time of writing and placing on timer I don’t know the score – but plenty of eyebrows were raised when our first team and substitutes were named for the game.

Starting XI:

Bailey Peacock-Farrell, Luke Ayling, Adam Forshaw, Liam Cooper, Gaetano Berardi, Ezgjan Alioski, Stuart Dallas, Pablo Hernandez, Samuel Saiz, Kalvin Phillips, Kemar Roofe.

Subs:

Kamil Miazek, Sam Dalby, Hugo Diaz, Oriol Rey.

It’s fair to say that fans were certainly concerned even if you allow for some players missing so they get more minutes in the next match.
