Our time back at the top of the Championship table lasted all of a day, as Norwich beat Hull to regain first place.

The Canaries’ result meant we dropped back down to second place, and will have all to play for when Sheffield United travel to Elland Road this weekend in a potential promotion deciding clash.

Whites fans on the R/LeedsUnited Reddit page, though, think more is afoot in the English second-tier following Daniel Farke’s 2-0 win over the Tigers, with two separate threads posted after the Hull game suggesting other clubs are not trying to beat Norwich.

Their win on Wednesday night made it five in a row for the Carrow Road outfit, having previously slipped up on their travels to Preston North End in February.

That result, however, has been the only blip on their otherwise unbeaten league record that stretches back to December, when Derby required four goals to steal the points.

We, on the other hand, failed to beat Nigel Adkins’ men in December and then almost let automatic promotion slip from our clutches during a troublesome start to 2019.

The suggestion that our fellow Championship sides are allowing Norwich to walk away with promotion may be pretty far fetched, but here’s what’s being said on Reddit…

  • Did the Leeds fan notice how terrible the defending was by Reading in their 3-0 win?! They constantly think the world is against them. Also that they are the only ones who get injuries. Grow up and focus on yourselves!!!

  • while I understand how us supporters feel about rival and our own team, I have never heard such crap. Had they been at Carrow Rd for the last two game they would have seen the true picture. Swansea outplayed us for long periods, only excellent defending and a sublime strike brought about 3 points. Hull could not live with the play we put on, two mistake let them back in, only a superb flick and finish got us over the line again.

Letting us win, laughable, we and you are where we should given the season so far we have both had.

  • Typical Dirty Leeds moaning about others teams not trying to beat city.
Both Swansea and Hull have a chance for the playoffs so why would they not try and get a win or at least a point from every game they play.

Leeds are getting the excuses in now just in case they fall at the final hurdle and have to go up v the playoffs or maybe fall at that hurdle as well

  • As a Norwich fan living in Leeds I’d really like to see both teams promoted.

However, after watching the growing number of whinges from Leeds fans (which appears to be getting worse), I’m starting to think I’d rather see another team go up.

I can understand that Leeds fans are both anxious and excited about promotion and may be bracing themselves for disappointment after waiting so long to get into the Premier League. But come on, what’s with all the “we’re victims” and “everybody hates us” mentality? Show some class and have some faith, it’s still in Leeds hands to get automatically promoted!

No club has a god given right to be in the Premier League just because of past glories or the size of their fan base and we all know the Championship is such a tough league to get out of.

It’s sad to see this growing number of Leeds fans who seem to think there’s some sort of conspiracy against them by suggesting other teams are not trying against Norwich or Sheffield United, which of course is absolute rubbish as well as disrespectful.

If that is true, does it mean that Leeds rolled over when we beat them 3-1 at Elland Road? 😉

I guess this small section of Leeds fans haven’t worked out yet that all this negative talk only serves to bring the club down. Not to mention the impact and pressure it might be having on their players.

Talk about digging a hole for yourselves…
