Ahead of the loan signing of Jamal Blackman from Chelsea yesterday, somebody in the Elland Road social media team decided to be a little bit cheeky and provide what I guess you’d call a teaser prior to the announcement.

It was, of course, leaning heavily on the frustrations within the fanbase owing to Leeds’ lack of action in this transfer window and the endless stories that fans have seen in the media about proposed transfer target talks stalling for financial reasons – or like yesterday also, targets beginning to sign on the the dotted line for other clubs as Kyle Bartley did with West Bromwich Albion.

Reactions to the tweet certainly shouldn’t overshadow the frustrations on show at the minute, but football fans will be football fans and it appears a number enjoyed the humour, even if it was through gritted teeth.
