Earlier this morning West Bromwich Albion confirmed that they had secured the capture of Swansea City’s Kyle Bartley on a three-year deal.
Having been on loan at Elland Road previously in his career during the 2016/17 Championship campaign where he made 49 starting appearances for us across all competitions, one substitute showing and returned six league goals, he had obviously been heavily linked with a return and at one point we were supposed to be in pole position for his capture.
It’s believed that West Brom paid £7million for the 27-year-old in the end, even though the official announcements were ‘undisclosed fee’ statements and plenty can debate as to whether or not Bartley was worth that kind of fee, but the main disappointment for fans is we have more than stalled on another target this summer, we have now flat out lost out on them.
The season kick-off is still drawing closer and the presumption is we’re sitting there playing Angry Birds.
With the price mentioned, it’s fair to say, some thought it was sensible to walk away but if that’s the going rate in this market you have to match it.
Gutted won't lie. Quailty addition in this division.

Clearly ???? your manager was the only one who didn’t. The fans and players all wanted him. Was quality for you on his loan

Any Leeds fan saying they didn’t want him or not worth the risk is talking absolute shite. Class act and will most likely be the best centre half in the division. Gets a good few goals aswell. Steal for 4m and I am very very jealous ????????

No I wish him all the best. Yes I would love to have seen him at Leeds but it was not to be

Leeds fans are fuming and it’s great ????????

You’ve got a top, top player there guys. Genuinely nice guy to boot.
All the best Kyle.
