‘Should be starting!’ – many Leeds fans want striker switch

|

With on-loan Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah away on international duty with England Under-21’s, fans have taken a reflective look at his stay at Elland Road so far.

The 20-year-old frontman has had a decent start to his season-long spell in the Championship, scoring four goals for United in league and cup so far.

It’s not been totally plain-sailing for Nketiah though. The youngster is still often used later on in games by Marcelo Bielsa, as an impact substitute or when the ‘Whites’ are chasing a goal.

It’s been mentioned previously how this could be good for the striker’s longer-term development, though, after Bamford’s inconsistent form and Nketiah dropping down a level for game-time, both the player and his parent club Arsenal will hope for more regular starting berths for the instinctive attacker soon.

United fans have also been crying out for Nketiah to start more regularly and as the youngster showed off his skills on with his national team, many took to Twitter to push for his inclusion. Here’s what was said:

Most Leeds fans were adamant that the young forward should be starting for their team and feel it’s only a matter of time until this is the case.

While some fans of Arsenal joined in the praise, stating how much they’re looking forward to having him play for them in the future.
