Leeds United are crying out for a breath of inspiration after struggling to hit their top gear in recent weeks, which has resulted in a very tight battle for the title alongside Sheffield United and Middlesbrough.
Options in the final third were depleted by Patrick Bamford’s long-term injury absence and, although Kemar Roofe has now returned from his own injury problem, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are still in need of further depth.
With the transfer window not open until January, the Peacocks’ best course of action will be to look within their squad for the talented starlets who continue to catch the eye – and plenty of fans believe Ryan Edmondson can be the answer to their troubles.
The 17-year-old scored for the U23 side on Monday, despite picking up a knock just minutes before, and supporters flocked to social media to urge Bielsa to hand further opportunities to the teenager who made his Championship debut in a defeat to Birmingham back in September.
We have gathered some of the best reactions below.
If Edmondson keeps his head down he’s going to do very well in the first team, we dying out for a different type of sticker up front #lufc

Captain Yorkshire just scored despite being injured about ten minutes ago. Managed to limp onto the end of a terrific cross from Clarke. He even scores with one leg. #lufc https://t.co/NjXxhRSyQp

Surely Edmondson should be in first team now

I think we do but I think Ryan Edmondson could well be that player, her banging them in for the under 23s (5 in 2 games), he’s a big lad and I think he’s ready for regular starts on the bench.
