‘Shocked’, ‘Struijk’s ability level’ – Some Leeds fans react to reports of late signing spree

Leeds United are planning a late summer signing spree to add four players to the Whites’ ranks, according to Football Insider.

It’s claimed the United hierarchy are in talks with Liverpool to acquire Ryan Kent on loan for the season to serve as Kemar Roofe’s replacement, while also closing in on deals for Inter Milan duo Facundo Colidio and Ryan Nolan.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is still opposed to sanctioning a temporary exit for Kent ahead of Thursday’s transfer deadline, but it is speculated that we may offer the Anfield natives a loan-to-buy arrangement similar to the deal which brought Helder Costa to Elland Road from Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the summer.

Marcelo Bielsa, meanwhile, is a big fan of Colidio, and reports in Italy by La Gazzetta dello Sport journalist Nicolo Schira suggest talks are ongoing between the United board and Inter Milan after both Colidio and Nolan accepted proposals put to them by the Whites.

Colidio enjoyed a stellar campaign at the front of the Nerazzurri’s Under 23s strike force last season, netting twelve goals in 31 games across all competitions, while 20-year-old centre-back Nolan captained the Primavera 1 side in all but three of his 42 appearances.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell’s departure has also left the club scrambling to acquire a new goalkeeper that will serve as Kiko Casilla’s understudy, suggesting Bielsa does not feel either of Will Huffer or Kamil Miazek are ready for a role in the senior squad.

Whites supporters reacting to the claims on social media have been somewhat held back in their responses, with some sharing doubt in the club pulling off four deals before the market slams shut on Thursday.

Others have focused their reactions on the quality of the players we could be acquiring, and what sort of role they could play in Bielsa’s plans this season.

Here’s how these fans reacted…
