Versatile Leeds United player Jamie Shackleton is set to have his medical at Millwall tomorrow, Tuesday, ahead of a season-long loan move to the capital.

Shackleton will be linking up with Charlie Cresswell, the highly-rated centre-back who also made a loan switch to Millwall from Leeds United earlier this month.

Since making his first-team debut in 2018, Shackleton has been an important member of the squad, despite not getting as many minutes as he might have liked last season. Being highly rated by many, it seems that a loan move will be good for all parties involved: Leeds get to see a young talent, at 22 years old, improve by making first-team minutes against strong opposition, Shackleton gets game-time and Millwall get a fantastic young player to bolster their squad for next season.

Leeds United already have three first-team right-backs for next season – Rasmus Kristensen, Cody Drameh and Luke Ayling – while Leeds have also made additions in midfield, with Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Darko Gyabi all capable of playing the role that Shackleton would be playing in there. Therefore, he was always unlikely to rack up many appearances this season at Elland Road.
