The first weekend without football in the EFL has passed and it seems safe to say that it was pretty boring to say the very least.
Whilst in the off-period you can at least look at the transfer window or an international tournament to stay occupied, this current predicament leaves clubs wondering exactly what is going to happen next.
Indeed, things are no different than at Leeds United where the Whites will be thinking about their promotion challenge and what the current hiatus could mean for it.
The question mark, of course, is whether the clubs are going to go up and down using the standings at the moment or whether a different solution can be found.
One idea emerging, too, is that both the Whites and West Brom would go up as they are the current top two in the Championship and they would then play in a 22-team Premier League season whenever the new campaign started – according to the Telegraph:
Liverpool to be crowned Prem champions and Leeds, WBA promoted to 22-team Premier League among latest proposals, claims report in the Daily Telegraph

This has got many fans taking on social media so let’s take a look at what has been said now:
No way! Finish the season at a later date, even if it runs into next year. Don’t want to be handed anything!

As a last resort I suppose this would be the fairest thing to do but it would feel very hollow in comparison to doing it over the full season. I really think they should get the season finished properly whenever that may be.

Not sure about increasing the PL to 22 mate, they have to finish the schedule at some point, Euros will be canned so time in summer.. Probably rather have it end as it stands now rather than void

Villa and Norwich have been turgid. It would irk me that they get a flukey second slice of the pie.

Too many legal implications for other teams and no money to be made by sponsors, broadcasters etc… definitely sensationalism

Scrap the Carabao Cup, 22 teams in the Prem, Promote Top 4 from Lesgue 1 to Champs and all the way down the leagues (promote 4) etc.
I’ve always thought there should be more teams in the Prem anyway.— no “e” in Thorp 🏆💙🤍💛 (@SuperstarDJHWG) March 14, 2020
