In some ways, Saturday’s Championship clash for Leeds United against Nottingham Forest was a disappointing affair, as despite dominating the game in our usual fashion, manager Marcelo Bielsa was left to talk about a failure to convert our many chances once again as he met with the media after the match.

The performance was good though, and with our chances also seeing a penalty ignored and Patrick Bamford hitting the bar, I’m not sure there should be a meltdown with four points returned from our opening two games.

Statistics website Whoscored weren’t very positive in their player ratings, I presume owing to Forest’s late equaliser bringing scores down, but on loan Brighton and Hove Albion centre-half Ben White certainly impressed in defence.

Picking up a score of 7.43 for his efforts on the day, he was followed in the top five by Mats Klich (7.21), Kalvin Phillips (7.01), Adam Forshaw (6.89) and goalscorer Pablo Hernandez (6.86).

With Helder Costa and Eddie Nketiah still to fire and become better options for Bielsa, it’s football, we’ll have days like that – all sides do. We just don’t want to repeat it as often as last season.
