Lloyd Sam scored for the second game in a row as Leeds earned a point in a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.

Leeds recalled club captain Richard Naylor to the side in place of Alex Bruce who dropped to the bench.

Naylor was the only change from the side that beat Lincoln City in the Carling Cup in midweek.

Forest had a chance inside two minutes, a ball into the middle was met by Anderson, but Schmeichel showed great reactions to keep him out.

The home side eventually took the lead in the ninth minute, Forest were allowed way too much time on the right and the ball into the middle found Blackstock, his glancing header giving Schmeichel no chance.

Forest were totally dominating the game and almost doubled the lead five minutes later. Earnshaw and Blackstock linked well to put Earnshaw in on goal but his shot came back out of the post.

It took Leeds until halfway through the half to finally start to get the chance to settle on the ball.

Sam and Becchio linked up well to put Becchio through, his first touch was too strong and Camp had time to come out and smother his shot.

Becchio tried his luck again minutes later after a poor punch from Camp but his overhead kick sailed harmlessly wide.

Leeds equalised in the 36th minute when Bradley Johnson`s cross was met by the head of Sam who directed the ball into the far corner of the net.

Forest tried to retake the initiative but could only muster long range efforts from Majewski and Anderson that both sailed harmlessly wide.

Leeds would have been happy to get in at half time on level terms after the pressure from Forest in the opening twenty minutes.

Bradley Johnson had a half chance for Leeds in the opening minute of the second half after a wayward pass, his shot though was scuffed and went well wide of the goal.

Lloyd Sam was causing Forest problems, on one occasion he cut inside and his shot across goal only needed a touch from an attacking Leeds player to surely put the visitors ahead.

Despite the game being very open neither keeper had needed to be called into action as the game enter the final twenty-five minutes.

Leeds had a couple of good chances in the space of a few minutes as the visitors started to up the pressure.

Neil Kilkenny`s free kick into the middle was cleared by Wilson, with Becchio ready to pounce.

Another Kilkenny cross was this time met by Watt in the centre of goal unmarked, but he headed wide when he should have at least hit the target.

Tensions threatened to boil over in the closing stages when both sides got involved in a scuffle. Both Sanchez Watt and Chris Gunter found their way into the book. TV replays showed that Gunter clearly stamped on the foot of Watt.

Leeds had a great chance to take the lead in the final two minutes, firstly Sam saw his shot blocked and Kilkenny followed up to shoot wide.

The referee added six minutes of added time after a lengthy spell of treatment to Forest keeper Lee Camp during the second half as well as the scuffle that would have also seen a few minutes added.

Despite the six minutes of added time, neither side created a clear-cut chance to seal all three points.

After weathering the storm in first twenty minutes, Leeds gradually got back into the game and looked the more likely winners in the second half.
