According to Football Insider, Leeds will attempt to sign Rhian Brewster on loan once again if Liverpool allow him to leave on a temporary basis once more.

The striker ended up at Swansea in January despite interest from the Whites, and he has had quite an impressive spell in South Wales, scoring four times in 11 league games.

However, with Liverpool running away with the league title it will be difficult for the youngster to jump above Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi in the pecking order, and interest in Timo Werner could force Brewster away from the club in search of game time.

That decision could ultimately come down to Jurgen Klopp, but after seeing his striker enjoy opportunities at Swansea this season he may be willing to aid his development further by allowing him to leave.

Do you want us to sign Rhian Brewster on loan in the summer?

Yes

No

Leeds could, therefore, have a good chance of landing the 19-year-old regardless of what division we are competing in next term.

If we get promoted we would have Premier League appeal, and that means both Liverpool and Brewster should be keen on a loan move in order to see how the player copes with a jump in standard.

If not, we should be able to provide him game time in the Championship, and either way we also have the Marcelo Bielsa factor and our possession-based style working in our favour.

Signing the Liverpool man is an exciting prospect on paper, particularly as Klopp has described him as a “top striker, a top talent”.

However, there are some concerns about his readiness not just for the Premier League – should we go up – but our style of play too.

We have managed an impressive 60% average possession this year, and Bielsa may not trust Brewster in the same way as he didn’t have confidence in Eddie Nketiah, as the former has managed just 62% pass accuracy at the Swans, while Nketiah managed 72% with us, and started just two league games.

As a result, the Reds forward may not be such a sensible addition, though Bielsa should still be trusted and backed to sign who he wants.
