Reported Leeds Target’s Arrival Hinges On Promotion

|

Ever since Argentine gaffer Marcelo Bielsa rocked up at Elland Road, one regular piece of speculation on the rumour mill for Leeds United has concerned Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Iturraspe.

The 30-year-old Spanish international worked with Bielsa earlier in his career during his spell at Bilbao where the side made the Europa League final back in the 2011/12 campaign before ultimately losing out to Atletico Madrid.

Having been linked with a move to us in both the summer and January transfer windows, it seems the speculation is getting a second airing in some areas of the media, because Bilbao have now confirmed that he will be leaving the club this summer when his contract expires.

That has led outlet El Gol Digital to repeat the speculation, but this time it is caveated with the player would only entertain a move if Leeds gain promotion into the Premier League via the Play-Off route and Wembley.

Seems a bit of a lazy update for me really.
