It was reported yesterday that 26-year-old Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has fallen foul of an injury this pre-season and with tests and assessments still to be done, we don’t yet know how long he might potentially spend on the sidelines.

Having joined us for a reported £4.5million from Middlesbrough in the January transfer window, he was restricted to only nine starting appearances with a further three showings from the bench last season and plenty had hope that he would step up this year and start showing the kind of form that led to us signing him.

The initial speculation of the injury came from journalist Alan Nixon.

For those who that tweet won’t appear for, the text says.

“Leeds. Forshaw picked up an injury. And it’s looking like a long term blow for the chap.”

This naturally lends itself to speculation about whether we will look to replace him if the injury proves as serious as originally claimed, but some fans think that it’s over to on-loan Chelsea player Lewis Baker and Mats Klich to now really step up to the plate in his absence.
