Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa will not let some of the club’s younger players leave on loan at this moment in time, as he does not want his squad to be short on numbers in training, a report from The Sun has revealed.

A number of Leeds’ young squad players have been linked with temporary moves away, including Robbie Gotts, who is said to be attracting attention from Huddersfield and Hull, and Jordan Stevens, who is close to a loan move to Swindon, according to the League One club’s manager, Richie Wellens.

However, it seems those moves are on hold for now, as Bielsa waits for reinforcements for his senior side.

It is thought that both Gotts and Stevens have been cleared to move elsewhere for the coming campaign, but will not actually complete those deals until new signings have been made.

That is because Bielsa is apparently adamant that he has the right amount of players available for his notoriously intense training sessions, and does not want his preparations to be impacted by a lack of numbers that could be caused by these loan deals being confirmed before the time is right.

This once again, shows just how meticulous Bielsa is in his approach to absolutely everything in football, and it is hard to argue with his stance here.

Ultimately the club must come before any one individual, and that means making sure training is exactly as Bielsa wants it, particularly in a post-promotion season such as this that is especially important.

That being said, it could still benefit these players to get out on loan at some point, so you would like to think new signings will be arriving soon for that as well as the impact they can make on the first-team, and it is encouraging that Leeds are not done yet in the transfer market.
