Report: Leeds United set to offer lucrative £100,000-a-week deal to Elland Road favourite

Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa arrives at Elland Road before the Huddersfield match

Leeds United could be about to reward manager Marcelo Bielsa with a new contract to manage the club in the Premier League, according to reports.

The 64-year-old head coach secured promotion with the Whites to England’s top-flight for the first time in 16 years and have received waves of praise from fans and pundits following his astonishing achievement.

Wild celebrations were caught on camera on Sunday as his team toppled Derby County 3-1 at Pride Park. Players and officials were jumping around the stadium in delight as they were confirmed as champions the day before.

According to Football Insider, the Elland Road hierarchy will sit down with the Argentinian tactician and discuss a possible £100,000-a-week contract to emphasise the blueprints of the football club as a Premier League side once again.

The report added that Victor Orta will go over his plans with Bielsa once the season draws to a close on Wednesday and that the club have an option to extend the agreement of his current contract. However, they are expected to bypass this and offer him a new deal altogether.

This will delight Leeds fans across the globe. Not only is he adored among the Elland Road faithful, but he will go down as a legend at the club after what he has achieved since he arrived back in 2018.

It would be in the board room’s best interests to get Bielsa to commit his long-term future at the club – if they are to stand any chance of surviving in the Premier League.
