Leeds United have tabled an opening bid of £15million to sign Norwich City attacker Todd Cantwell, a report from Football Inisder has claimed.

The Championship title winners have been in the market for an attacking midfielder this summer, and it now seems as though Cantwell has emerged as a potential option to fill that role.

According to the latest reports, Leeds have made a £15million bid for Cantwell, as they look to secure the services of the 22-year-old.

While it remains to be seen if that bid will be accepted by Norwich, it is thought that the attacker will be left out of Norwich’s squad for their trip to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon.

As things stand, there are still two years remaining on Cantwell’s contract with Norwich, securing his future at the club until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.

Last season, Cantwell scored six goals and provided two assists in 37 league appearances for Norwich, but was unable to prevent the Canaries from suffering relegation from the Premier League after just a single season in the top-flight of English football.

This could certainly be a useful signing for Leeds if they are able to pull it off.

Cantwell was impressive for Norwich in the Premier League last season, meaning he ought to be a reliable option for Bielsa if he makes the move to Elland Road, and at 22-years-old, you feel he will only improve with more experience.

It also looks as though Cantwell could be cheaper than some of Leeds’ other attacking midfield targets this summer, meaning this deal could make sense from a financial perspective as well.
