Report Explains Two Omissions From Leeds’ Australia Squad

|

With Marcelo Bielsa announcing the Leeds United squad that would take in our mini tour Down Under in Australia, most fans focused in immediately on the inclusion of Kalvin Phillips given all the speculation that is swirling around about the 23-year-old’s future at the club.

There were notable omissions though, Helder Costa, Jack Clarke, Ben White and goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell were missing from the group and we learned that Bielsa himself will miss most of the trip as he prioritises getting our new arrivals and internationals up to speed fitness wise.

The Yorkshire Evening Post have built on those explanations by covering the reason as to why Luke Ayling was missing from the trip, as well as Tyler Roberts.

I think most fans knew Roberts had undergone a minor knee surgery over the summer and he’s simply continuing his rehabilitation from that, Ayling, however, picked up a kick during pre-season training and whilst it’s not a serious injury, he stays behind to recover as well.

With all the reading into the squad that has gone on, at least they are two bits of speculation that can be shut down.
