Report Claims Leeds Star Will Stall Contract Talks To Engineer A Move, But I’m Not So Sure

|

With Leeds United securing Kalvin Phillips, Stuart Dallas and Liam Cooper to new contracts in recent times, one other big contract rumour concerns Polish international Mats Klich.

“Like Another New Signing” – Former Leeds Man Backs The Club To Get 29 y/o Signed To A New Deal

Former striker Jermaine Beckford has backed him to sign up to a new extension and Klich himself revealed on international duty that talks were ongoing about a new deal for him as well.

There has been a claim this week that some inside of the club are worried that Klich will postpone a new deal in order to assess his Premier League options come the end of the 2019/20 Championship campaign.

Typically, for such rumours, there’s an unsubstantiated claim that Burnley are still tracking him and that’s basically all the report hinges on, but with his own words about a new deal, as relayed by a journalist in attendance on the above link, Klich certainly didn’t appear to sound like a player wishing to stall on a new contract given how he’s enjoying his time at Elland Road.

I’m not so sure anyone should be worried here – if speculation over the summer concerning Burnley was that concrete we’d have heard more, and most fans dismissed the Klich speculation back then anyway.
