Report Claims Leeds Join The Race For League One Talent & We Plan To Have Him Watched

|

With the October international break in full flow now, it inevitably means a subtle return to transfer rumour mill speculation as the red tops, both on and offline, look for easy content to fill the pages, and Leeds United are said to be watching highly rated Coventry City defender, Sam McCallum, closely over the next fortnight.

With a lull in Championship fixtures, we have to wait a bit to make up for the Millwall disappointment last weekend, but League One Coventry have a couple of games on their list before our football returns.

Midlands outfit, the Birmingham Mail, have West Bromwich Albion linked with having an interest in the 19-year-old defender and at the moment, if the rumour is to be believed, it’s a two club race for his potential services either in the January transfer window, or over the summer.

Last March he penned a new deal with the club which runs until 2022 and having made his breakthrough in the 2018/19 campaign, he’s already featured nine times for them this year, with his career tally reading ten starts and seven substitute showings.

If Leeds have an interest, it’s undoubtedly for Carlos Corberan’s Under 23 setup and it would simply be the continuation of signings that we’ve seen for the future, so he might be a name to remember.
