Last week reports emerged suggesting that Leeds United owner Andrea Radrizzani had tapped up some Italian colleagues in an effort to sign midfielder Michael Folorunsho from Virtus Francavilla.

The 21-year-old former Lazio youth player has had a decent season in 2018/19, scoring seven times for his club from midfield but it must be noted they play in Serie C, Italy’s third tier.

Tutto Calcio Puglia appear to be the first source for the speculation but Leeds Live have noted that this story has now received a second sourcing via Gazzetta dello Sport, which has now claimed we are in the ‘front row’ for the player.

Whether or not this speculation is now feeding itself is open to debate, but with Radrizzani being named as the prime mover here, and not Victor Orta, it does sound semi-believable but quite how fans will react to the news is open for debate.

He could be a potential gem or the step up to the Championship may prove to be too much. Given his age though he may just be a target for Carlos Corberan’s Under 23 squad to see how he adjusts, rather than a firm first team addition and that does feel more likely.
