Leeds United are considering making a bid to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Michael Cuisance, a report from FootMercato has claimed.

Cuisance only joined Bayern from their Bundesliga rivals Borussia Monchengladbach last summer, but it already seems as though the 21-year-old could soon be on the move again.

According to the latest reports, Cuisance is keen to leave Bayern this summer in search of more regular game time, having made just 11 appearances in all competitions for last season’s Champions League winners.

That is something that appears to have attracted plenty of attention at Elland Road, with manager Marcelo Bielsa said to be a fan of Cuisance, and it is thought that the Argentine has instructed his club to bring the France youth international to Yorkshire.

Bielsa’s former club Marseille are also reportedly interested in the midfielder, but a lack of funds means the French club are instead looking at a loan to buy deal for Cuisance.

Bayern however, are said to prefer a permanent move now, which could play into Leeds’ hands in this particular transfer battle.

There are still four years remaining on Cuisance’s contract with Bayern however, meaning the German champions are not currently under any pressure to sell the 21-year-old.

Given they are still looking for a midfielder in the current transfer window, this could be a decent signing for Leeds, as they look to build a squad capable of consistently competing in the Premier League.

Cuisance is a player who seems to possess plenty of potential, and could benefit Leeds for years to come, although it would be interesting to see if Bielsa does break his unwritten rule over not throwing new signings into a side too soon, given his apparent admiration of the player, and Cuisance’s desire for first-team football.
