Andrea Radrizzani was speaking at an event in London last night and has suggested that a ‘Premier League 2’ replaces the Championship.
He’s an ambitious man is our owner and he certainly seems to know a business deal when he sees it.
In recent times we’ve seen his Eleven Sports venture sweep up Italian and Spanish football rights in this country and now he has plans to change things here.
Citing the fact that the TV money from Sky is split across the 72 EFL clubs, he’s said that a new system should be put in place so teams like ours – that are on TV more than most – get a bigger share.
In practice, that bit seems good, but going for a Premier League 2 and sort of forgetting League One and League Two is going to divide opinion:
Leeds United owner calls for creation of “Premier League 2” and outlines determination to turn club into one of the "top-eight brands in the Premier League".#lufc #LeadersWeek https://t.co/afQHne2EFg

He’s never going to shy away from what he thinks, though, and we’re bound to hear more about this in the future.
