Q & A with Vital Tranmere

We caught up with Vital Tranmere editor Liam before Saturday’s crucial clash

Did you expect to be pushing for the Play offs this season?

Not really no I expected a mid table finish again as we lost key players such as Steve Davies, Paul McLaren and Calvin Zola.

Who`s been your key player this season?

Got to be the ‘skipper Antony Kay usually a defender he has moved to central midfield now and is our top goal scorer with 11 goals and has saved us so many times this season, plays his heart out and gives 100% every game a true captain.

Are you happy with Ronnie Moore this season?

Happy? No! I’m delighted he’s done a great job with limited funds he has brought in average League One players and lost some key players yet he has done better this season than his previous two. He always get’s the best out of his players and has made Prenton Park a fortress. Quality manager at this level and i believe if we give him time he can take us a long way, already a legend at the club for being a player, Coach and assistant manager.

Which team in League One have impressed you most this season?

Peterborough or Millwall out of them two, Millwall played us off the park battering us at home 3-1 and hardly any teams come to Prenton Park and do well. Whilst I have seen Peterborough a couple of times and love there attacking football and they have great strikers with in Mackail- Smith, Aaron McClean and George Boyd.

Do you think you will make the Play Offs?

From the bottom of my heart – No, simply due to the fact Scunny have an extra two games in hand. Think we’ll just miss out but not by much.

If you make the play offs who do you want to avoid and other than yourselves who do you think will win them?

If we made the play offs I would like to avoid you lot as we have beaten you the last two times we have played and I think sooner or later you`re going to beat us and I can see you lot getting revenge in the play offs. Apart from us I would fancy MK Dons I think they play lovely football on the floor and have some classy players. And a young ambitious manager within Di Matteo!

Which player should we be looking out for from your side?

Ian Moore, he’s been on fire this season despite playing on the wing for most of it, but as you guys already know the lad can finish give him a chance he’ll put it in the back of the net and will work his socks off.

And who should we be looking to exploit?

Eddy Sonko

What do you think the result will be on Saturday?

Got a good feeling we will win again, 0-2 Tranmere, Sorry guys!

Liam,
Editor of Vital Tranmere.
