“Pure nonsense!” – Leeds fans pour scorn on manager concerns

|

Leeds fans have reacted with annoyance and ridicule after a local newspaper printed a letter from a concerned supporter questioning manager Marcelo Bielsa’s stewardship at the club.

The letter, in the Yorkshire Post, featured concerns that the experienced Argentine had lost the respect of his players and, though United regularly dominate games, this season is destined to end in disappointment like previous campaigns.

It’s fair to say this isn’t a view held by many ‘Whites’ supporters. By and large, the Leeds fans love Bielsa and appreciate the impact he’s had on their side.  There are certainly no reports of the players not believing in him. It appears in fact, to be the opposite, with Bielsa’s methods, experience and mannerisms having the full endorsement of the players and fanbase – and vice-versa.

Marcelo Bielsa’s long-term aspirations is another debate entirely, with the former Argentina, Chile and Athletic Bilbao boss only committing on a season by season basis at present, but right now it appears United fans are fully behind their manager, and that these concerns are held by very few followers of the club. Many were quick to give their opinions on Twitter. Here’s what is being said:

Most United fans have labelled the concerns as “nonsense”, while feeling the club is now in it’s best period for 15 years!

The supporters were almost unequivocal in their response to any concerns held about the manager, and United fans firmly believe he’s the right man to lead them moving forward.
