Speaking to EFL on Quest last weekend, Dean Ashton said that we were in for a tough month thanks to injuries after the draw with Brentford.

A few more draws have crept in of late, it must be said, and many have suggested that that is because the squad cannot deal with the injuries that have come about from our intensity.

Indeed, at the weekend, Ashton said:

“It’s going to be a tough month for Leeds until they can get those players back.

“It is (taking its toll) and Bielsa works them hard as well. It’s interesting that he’s brought some very young players into the squad.”

Already, though, those comments look to be wide of the mark.

Put it this way, we are still more than in touch at the top of the league and this weekend there is no football – allowing our players more time to rest.

Indeed, when you look at it we’ve got Blackburn in over a week from now and Pablo Hernandez, Kemar Roofe and Gaetano Berardi should all be ready to start.

This tough month might actually become a relatively normal one, then, and I think it’s another case of us being put down when there’s no need.
