On Friday evening Leeds United confirmed that Academy graduate Lewie Coyle had now completed his expected permanent move out to League One side Fleetwood Town for an undisclosed fee.
The 24-year-old defender has made 15 senior starting appearances, along with eight substitute showings for Leeds following his promotion through our youth ranks, and for the last two and a half season’s he has been out on loan at Highbury – making 119 starts with three further showings from the bench.
Given how he’s established himself at Fleetwood and become a key member of the squad for them, it’s no great surprise to see him move on with a permanent deal but plenty of fans will have wished we’d have seen a little bit more of him in recent years in our first team.

With the deal being confirmed on Friday evening, the player himself took to social media to say his hello’s and goodbye’s and the messages were positive as you’d expect.
Deserved a shot at Leeds Lewie, all the best for the future 👊
