Turkish outlet Fotomac – via City Watch on Twitter – has claimed that defender Jason Denayer turned down a loan move to Leeds United late on in the window.

The rangy defender would probably have turned out to be a decent signing for us given his ability and power but, at the same time, I do still have some doubts myself about where his career is heading.

Being at City is no mean feat but he isn’t playing for them, with varied successes on loan.

Anyway, he is holding out for a move to Galatasaray where he knows the set-up and that might be the best move for him.

Meanwhile, we still look short of numbers – despite Bielsa’s confidence – and I would like to think we are going to use the loan market before it shuts in three weeks from today.

The transfer window is dead, long live the loan window and all that.
