Poor Lee Johnson – It’s All About The Three’s For Leeds On Opening Day

|

Having been rather predictably selected for the live television broadcast, Leeds United had to wait until Sunday afternoon to open up their 2019/20 Championship campaign and we were rewarded with a trip to Ashton Gate to face Bristol City.

Much like last season’s matches, we again had the better possession and the greater chances on the day, but unlike last season, we were a touch more clinical and scored with three of our four registered efforts on target to comfortably gift us all three points on the day.

Pablo Hernandez opened things up for us in the 26th minute, before Patrick Bamford got himself off the mark just ahead of the hour. Jack Harrison tied the game up with our third, although Bristol City did pull one back with eleven minutes remaining in the game.

All in all, a good opening day and now we all hope it’s a slightly busy week ahead of deadline day to play what we all feel are the gaps when it comes to depth in the group, as everyone knows what the aim is this year.
