On Monday, Carlos Corberan’s Under 23 Leeds United side were back on display as we welcomed Sheffield Wednesday’s youngsters to Thorp Arch.

Following a goalless first half, ten minutes after the half time restart, highly rated Mats Bogusz got himself on to the scoresheet once again to ensure another three points, and our fourth successive victory in the Professional Development League competition.

Leeds: Meslier, Gotts (Casey 45), Struijk, Davis, Douglas (Clarke 45), Hosannah, Stevens (Nketiah 45), McCalmont, Bogusz, McCarron, Edmondson. Subs not used: Miazek, Cresswell.

Although both sides had chances, Corberan will probably feel the margin of victory should’ve been slightly more comfortable given the positions we got into, but Bogusz’s finish was certainly a tidy one and he continues to progress nicely.

With the 18-year-old’s only start so far coming in the EFL Cup clash with Stoke City back in late August, you can see why a number of fans finally expect to see him come off the bench in the near future for Marcelo Bielsa.
