Leeds United returned to the top of the Championship after Sunday’s 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic but not everyone was pleased with the performance.
The Peacocks conceded after just six minutes, although equalised soon after through Pablo Hernandez, with Kemar Roofe then securing all three points by striking the winning goal in the second half.
Marcelo Bielsa has certainly made a huge impression at Elland Road following his arrival and he admitted after the victory over the Latics that he still wants to see more from his side, who seem to have lost some of their attacking edge since the start of the campaign.
In the early weeks of the season, Leeds were unstoppable in the final third but a mixture of injury problems and sub-par performances have left the Yorkshire giants scrapping with the likes of Sheffield United and Middlesbrough for top-spot, being unable to pull away from their promotion rivals.
While Bielsa’s criticisms may seem harsh, plenty of fans agreed and we have gathered some of the best reactions to his comments below.
Couldn’t agree more. Was a very edgy game to watch today. Begoninning of season we oozed confidence and class. Ball on the deck and superb interchanging passing. A little bit back to hoof ball today, inviting them back on.

Totally agree with him. Being positive (whilst realistic) would be to say that we’re top of the league having played well below what we’re capable of.

You certainly can’t accuse this guy of getting carried away. You certainly can respect him for (welcome) out & out honesty & straight talking. Some other EFL and Premiership managers from recent media statements seem to be taking a leaf out of the Bielsa Masters book eh Phil ?

I hate to State the obvious, but I completely agree with the boss .. . However . . . as much as I love this team . . . . it’s his job to get us back to our unplayable, sparkling, best . . . Could i also just further spoil the mood & say . . . 2 million quid . . .

He’s absolutely right but the consistency of performance (if not always the result) has been there and there is much more to come from this team; in particular when we start converting chances

We dominate possession in most games. Need to turn it in chances & goals?
