PL chase for Bielsa favourite hots up as Leeds face battle to keep star – report

|

Manchester United and Manchester City are both understood to have joined the hunt for Leeds United’s star Jack Clarke.

The Sun have tipped the two Manchester clubs to be keeping an eye on developments regarding Clarke’s situation at Elland Road, alongside Tottenham Hotspur.

The 18-year-old had already come under growing interest from the Premier League when first Crystal Palace saw a £3million bid rejected, and then Southampton lodged a £5million offer, as per Football Insider.

At the time, the top clubs were only watching from the background, but The Sun’s report suggests they are readying moves and Leeds could bank £12million if they opt to cash in.

The Whites are confident of retaining Clarke’s services for the promotion push, however, as the player’s family have a strong loyalty to Elland Road and are said to be keen on seeing the teenager play a part in securing Premier League football for next season.

The Sun also suggests that Clarke’s family would be heartbroken if he were to miss out on getting Leeds back into the top-flight, and fear he would be forced to play U23 football if one of Marcelo Bielsa’s favourite players were to leave for either Manchester club.
