With Leeds United’s promotion dream coming to an end for the 2018/19 campaign on Wednesday night as we fell to defeat to Derby County in the Championship Play-Off Semi-Finals, manager Marcelo Bielsa wouldn’t be drawn on his future immediately following the game.
“I Will Listen To This Proposal” – Bielsa Comments On His Future After “Painful” Leeds Defeat
Speaking immediately after the game, Bielsa explained.
“As you can imagine, it’s not convenient to talk about this right now. This process, you know about it, is that if the club offers me the possibility to carry on I will listen to their proposal.”
With it being recently confirmed that his deal simply gave Leeds the opportunity to walk away over the summer should they wish, but Bielsa himself couldn’t walk away – especially on promotion, Yorkshire Evening Post journalist Phil Hay had a great update on the situation yesterday.
Bielsa’s contract is effectively three one-year deals with the club holding an option to extend each time. They won’t stand in his way if he wants to leave but they will put the ball in his court by offering to activate another 12 months:https://t.co/yZXRKfmbg2

The answer from Leeds to Bielsa’s ‘I will listen’ will be met by talks on the second year and given we already know that plans are afoot for further training ground changes at Bielsa’s behest, I’m confident he’ll still be here.
If there was a God, he would stay at Leeds. As in, he is God and he should stay at Leeds. No figure of speech going on here. Phil, for the 15th time in 2 weeks, do you think he will be here?

Please stay God.

The ball is in @LUFC's hand, get a big transfer budget sorted, and get the players Bielsa wants.
Transfer window is open, stop wasting time. #lufc— Si (@LeedsInShetland) May 16, 2019
Bielsa must stay.

Next season starts now. Board needs to be in a meeting room today organising a clear plan of how we go up.
This week would be a good week to pick us all up & announce bielsa is staying.

Needs backing with players he wants.

Correct. I wonder if Carlos Corberan's contract is the same? I think he is massive to the future of Leeds.
