The boss of the players union Gordon Taylor has spoken of his fears that the controversy surrounding a Leeds United player may lead to a media ‘witch hunt.’

‘The problem now is that there will be a witch-hunt by the media, it’s really too sensitive to comment until there’s been a proper inquiry’ Taylor said.

Taylor also fears that Leeds have already jumped the gun a bit, and sooner or later they will be brought to account for it.

‘These are very serious accusations. It will impact very badly on the player in question.

‘Sooner or later Leeds are going to have to justify their decision because that would be constructive dismissal.’

Leeds boss Dennis Wise has already stated that the player will not play for Leeds United again, after allegations of passing the team-sheet for yesterday’s 2-1 win at Crystal Palace to the opposition before kick-off.
