Gianluigi Longari of Sportitalia claims that Chelsea have made a new offer on personal terms to Raphinha which includes £6 million per-year for the Brazilian winger.

This comes after Fabrizio Romano reported yesterday that Chelsea have agreed a deal with Leeds worth around £60/65 million, with the bulk of it to be paid immediately.

Arsenal had expected to sign Raphinha but it seems they were unable to offer the fee that Leeds wanted. Chelsea’s offer of Champions League football may also be a pulling factor for the 25-year-old, while Arsenal narrowly missed out to North London rivals Tottenham after losing 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and 2-0 to Newcastle at St. James’ Park.

Raphinha scored in a 3-2 loss at Stamford Bridge in December, with Jorginho scoring a controversial stoppage-time penalty after Joe Gelhardt had levelled things up with his first touch.

Chelsea have a whole host of options on the wing already, with Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Mason Mount, Timo Werner and Kai Havertz all able to play wide, while a move for Raheem Sterling could still come to fruition for around £35 million. However, Raphinha will likely be the pick of the bunch, becoming a prominent figure in Tuchel’s side.

Raphinha could be back at Elland Road in August, with Leeds United hosting Chelsea during just the third matchday of the season.
