Perhaps it’s best that this transfer to Leeds didn’t happen

After rumours in the summer suggested that perhaps Marcelo Bielsa would like Juan Foyth at the club this season, it is probably for the best now that that hasn’t happened.

The Whites were pretty active in the summer – though perhaps not to the extent some of us expected – and signed some decent young players.

Indeed, Foyth would have potentially fallen into that bracket but, actually, it would seem that it was probably best we didn’t get him.

His season so far has been tough with him not playing for Spurs in pre-season and now being injured and, clearly, he is low on confidence.

Of course, you can’t say for sure that he would have been poor for us but it’s not as if he is setting the place on fire at Spurs right now.

He still has a long way to go, then, and I think the first-team options we’ve got are arguably as strong or even better at the moment.
