According to reports today Neil Warnock is interested in talks to sign Shaun Derry on a permanent deal.

The Crystal Palace big mouth, sorry boss, has the 30-year-old midfielder on loan but now wants to take him for good.

Warnock said to the South London Press, ‘We’ll be talking to Leeds because his contribution has been good. Shaun’s on a good contract at Leeds so we’ve got to see if they are ready for him to go and also sort things out this end. I think things will be resolved in the next week to 10 days.’

If no deal is done, Derry will have to return to Leeds after Saturday’s game v Bristol City.

The Yorkshire Evening Post say it is unlikely Leeds would allow a second loan spell and no official approaches have been received for Derry who has 18 months left on his Leeds contract. They also claim the fee would be in the region of £300 000 if a deal was agreed.
