Orta Thanks New Leeds Arrival For Sticking To His Word & Fans Will Love It

|

Although Leeds United fans had to be patient during the January transfer window, we head towards Friday’s deadline unlikely to do any further business based on manager Marcelo Bielsa’s pre-Millwall words, but we have strengthened sensibly with the arrival of Elia Caprile, Ian Poveda and most recently Jean-Kevin Augustin.

Having worked diligently and quietly in the background, with the arrival on Monday of 22-year-old Augustin, director of football, Victor Orta, spoke to the Official Site to discuss how the deal came about, and fans, in particular, will be delighted with the one line of praise he had for the Frenchman as we sealed his switch from RB Leipzig for the second half of the year.

“I also need to say thank you to the player, because in the last minutes when people began to know he was available, a lot of teams began to call him, but he was really honest and gave us our word that he would sign for Leeds United and now he is our player.”

According to a recent Telegraph report, Crystal Palace and Brighton and Hove Albion tried to tempt him with Premier League football and he even had offers to stay in France with Saint-Etienne and Nice showing interest, so you can certainly see why Orta has publicly thanked the lad for his commitment.

It’ll do no harm in warming him to the fans either.
